GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS

This position shall develop and research the latest trends in the variety of positions with the Nez Perce Tribal Enterprises for training recommendations to depts. Will prepare modules/presentations for the Nez Perce Tribal Enterprise to develop team member competence. The class works under the supervision of the Corporate Trainer and Human Resources Dept. The Training Specialist will work collaboratively with other tribal entities, training programs, and educational institutions to promote and develop training opportunities for existing and potential enterprise team members.Adheres to and promotes compliance with applicable laws, safety codes, employee handbook, Vehicle Use Maintenance Manual, Finance Manual and department policies and procedures.

Schedules, on-site training, webinars, and on-line courses for team member development and improvement.
Provides training personally within expertise, monitors all on site training sessions, documents all training evaluations, reviews and orders training materials and supplies.

Requirements

• May require a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Human Resources Management or related field; Directly related Human Resources or Training can substitute for education.
• Requires three (3) years professional experience in personnel development, training, personnel management, or related experience.
• Requires working knowledge of applicable Tribal, Federal and State laws as they apply to employment on the reservation.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy.
• Certification as TIPS trainer, first aid/CPR, Title 31 preferred.
